A massive fire that gutted the building that housed Belfast’s Primark store has resulted in two companies each being fined £80,000 for health and safety offences. On 28 August 2018, fire erupted at the Bank Buildings store, causing extensive damage that resulted in a section of Belfast city centre being closed for years to allow for repairs. SINGAPORE: The director of a building demolition company was jailed for five days on Friday (Jun 30) for trying to get his worker to lie about his presence at a worksite where another worker was electrocuted to death. Tan Teik Soon, 53, did so as he feared that he would get into trouble with authorities and be implicated in the death of the worker. SINGAPORE – A fire at an industrial building storing chemicals in Tuas was brought under control by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on Wednesday morning, but not before damaging $10 million worth of chemical materials. The SCDF was alerted at about 2am to the blaze, which covered an area of roughly a football field, in the Tuas industrial area.
