We are glad to hear that Rolls-Royce Singapore, an aerospace company with high-value manufacturing operations at its Seletar Campus, has launched a platform for its people to report safety risks, on top of its WSH practices.
In addition to regular leadership safety walks during which top management actively assess on-site safety measures, Rolls-Royce implemented a cloud-based system that allows employees to submit their safety observations via mobile phones. This includes the capability to easily take and upload photos of any unsafe conditions that they spot.
Hazards reported by employees are then assigned to action owners to rectify. The system also tracks the observations and the actions taken to generate reports, which helps management to identify common hazards and focus their attention on improving the controls for these hazards to prevent recurrence.
